A Gathering of poets when we were at Café Zippy on Wetmore back in 2017.
Welcome to
Everett Poetry Night
(Is/was known as Everett Poetry Nite 2006-2016)

At Everett Poetry Night,
We Trust Our Words and We Trust Our
Audience to be Mature and
Open-Minded Enough to Embrace
the Range of Topics Shared.

Everett Poetry Night has been Everett, Washington's premier poetic outlet since 2006. Gathering every Thursday, (except major holidays), to share poetry and song. We welcome everyone from the page poet to the slam poet, from the rapper to spoken word artist and singer songwriter.

Through words we share a bond that makes us a community.
Through words we level walls.
Through listening we honor the performer.

~~
Everett Poetry Nite was founded and hosted by Garrett Rutledge in 2006. His goal was to bring together poets of all ages, skill, and styles into a blended environment that enriched the creative spirit in us all.
In August 2013, Garrett passed on the guidance of Everett Poetry Night
to Duane Kirby Jensen, who continues to build upon the foundation Garrett built.

Café Zippy was the home of Everett Poetry Night from 2006 - 2021, when they finally closed their doors. During that time, Café Zippy relocated three times.
2006 to 2012 they were on Hewitt Avenue. 2013 to 2016 they were at 2811 Wetmore Avenue. February 9, 2017 till closing on December 31st, 2021 they were at 1502 Rucker Ave,
Everett Poetry Night was born at Café Zippys in 2006. We moved temporarily to 3231 Creatives on Broadway, which became our home for four months until the Café Zippy's found a new home at 2811 Wetmore Avenue. During January and the first week of February 2017 we found temporary lodging at Black Lab Gallery 1618 Hewitt Ave.

Goodbye Thursday, Hello Monday.
On July 11, 2022, Monday became the new night for Poetry:
The Sister's Restaurant, 2804 Grand Ave., Everett, WA 98201 has been a great venue. It has been part of our refreshed vitality. Unfortune, we poets have been a bit to rowdy, generating a number of noise complaints. To mitigate this, we are moving to Monday Nights, a night those we have disturbed are close.
The move will allow us to bring the mic back.... Join us.
Poetry should be festive and spontaneous.
